Day 1: July 30 | Arrival in Cairo
Welcome to Egypt! Your 2027 Egypt Solar Eclipse Tour with Nile Cruise begins in Cairo, a city where thousands of years of history coexist with modern life.
Upon arrival at Cairo International Airport, a representative from Amon Ra Tours will meet you at the gate. You will enjoy VIP airport assistance, including help with luggage and fast-track support through arrival procedures. From there, relax during your private transfer to your carefully selected 5-star luxury hotel in Cairo.
Afterward, enjoy a private transfer in a luxury air-conditioned vehicle to your 5-star hotel in Cairo. Once you check in, the rest of the day is yours to relax, unwind, and recover from your journey.

Day 2: July 31 | Giza Pyramids & Grand Egyptian Museum
Enjoy breakfast at your hotel, then meet your private Egyptologist guide for a full day exploring some of Egypt’s most iconic sites.
Begin your tour at the Giza Plateau, where the Great Pyramids rise from the desert landscape. Step inside one of the pyramids and experience the powerful atmosphere that has fascinated travelers for centuries. Continue to the Great Sphinx, standing in silent watch over the sands of Giza.
After your visit, enjoy lunch at a carefully selected restaurant with panoramic views of the pyramids, offering the perfect setting to relax and reflect on the morning’s discoveries.
In the afternoon, head to the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM), the newest and largest museum in Egypt. Walk through its spacious galleries, where ancient statues, royal treasures, and the famous collection of King Tutankhamun bring Egypt’s history to life.
After the visit, return to your hotel in Cairo. The evening is free to rest, enjoy the hotel, or explore the city on your own.

Day 3: August 1 | Flight to Luxor & East Bank Temples
After breakfast, check out from your hotel in Cairo and transfer to Cairo International Airport for your short flight to Luxor.
Upon arrival at Luxor Airport, a representative from Amon Ra Tours will be waiting for you with a sign bearing your name. You’ll receive a warm welcome before enjoying a private transfer to your hotel in Luxor to check in and freshen up.
Later in the day, meet your private Egyptologist guide and begin your tour on the East Bank of Luxor. Visit the vast Karnak Temple Complex, dedicated to Amun-Ra. Walk through its grand halls and towering columns while learning how the temple was connected to the sun and ancient religious life.
Continue to Luxor Temple, located along the Nile River. As you walk through the temple, you’ll discover how it played an important role in religious ceremonies and royal celebrations.
After the tour, return to your hotel in Luxor. The evening is free for you to rest and prepare for the special days ahead.

Day 4: August 2 | The Total Solar Eclipse & Nile Cruise
After breakfast, check out from your hotel in Luxor and transfer to your private luxury Nile cruise.
Once on board, the cruise will move into position near Luxor to provide one of the best locations for viewing the solar eclipse. Before the eclipse begins, your astronomer will explain what to expect and how to watch the event safely and comfortably.
Then comes the moment you have been waiting for. Watch as the sky slowly darkens and daylight turns into night during the longest total solar eclipse of the 21st century. For more than six minutes, experience this rare natural event from a comfortable and carefully chosen viewing spot.
After the eclipse, enjoy a relaxed afternoon sailing along the Nile. Take time to rest, enjoy the views, and reflect on this unforgettable experience.
Dinner will be served on board as you continue your peaceful journey on the river.

Day 5: August 3 | West Bank of Luxor
After breakfast on board your Nile cruise, meet your private Egyptologist guide and travel to the West Bank of Luxor, home to Egypt’s most important royal tombs and temples.
Your first stop is the Valley of the Kings, where New Kingdom pharaohs were buried deep inside the mountains. Your guide will recommend the best tombs to visit, based on preservation and crowd levels. Highlights often include the tomb of Ramses V & VI, and the tomb of Seti I, widely considered the most beautiful tomb in Egypt. You may also choose to visit Tutankhamun’s tomb, known for its historic discovery.
Continue to the Temple of Hatshepsut, built into the cliffs of Deir el-Bahari. The temple rises through three grand terraces connected by a central ramp and is believed to have 365 steps, symbolizing the days of the year and Hatshepsut’s strong connection to the sun.
After the visit, return to the cruise for lunch. The afternoon is spent sailing peacefully along the Nile, offering time to relax and enjoy views of river villages.

Day 6: August 4 | Cruising the Nile & Temple of Edfu
After breakfast on board, enjoy a relaxed morning as your Nile cruise sails south. This is a perfect time to rest, enjoy the sun deck, or simply watch daily life along the river.
In the afternoon, visit the Temple of Edfu, one of the best-preserved temples in Egypt. Dedicated to Horus, the falcon god of the sky, the temple was buried under sand for centuries, which helped protect its walls and carvings.
After the visit, return to the cruise and continue sailing along the Nile. Enjoy a calm evening on board as the journey continues.

Day 7: August 5 | Kom Ombo & Aswan
After breakfast on board, the cruise continues toward Kom Ombo. Upon arrival, meet your private Egyptologist guide and visit the Temple of Kom Ombo, one of the most unique temples in Egypt.
This temple is dedicated to two gods at the same time: Sobek, the crocodile god, and Horus, the falcon god. The temple is perfectly divided into two symmetrical halves, each with its own entrance, halls, and sanctuaries. As you walk through the temple, you’ll notice its perfect symmetry and view detailed carvings that show ancient medical instruments, offering insight into Egypt’s advanced understanding of medicine.
Continue sailing to Aswan, known for its calm atmosphere and beautiful Nile scenery. In the afternoon, visit the Philae Temple of Isis, located on an island and reached by boat. Carefully relocated to save it from flooding, the temple remains one of Egypt’s most elegant and spiritual sites.
In the evening, enjoy time to relax as the cruise docks in Aswan.

Day 8: August 6 | Abu Simbel & Return to Cairo
After an early breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight to Abu Simbel, one of Egypt’s most impressive ancient sites.
Upon arrival, visit the Temples of Abu Simbel, built by Ramses II and carved directly into the rock cliffs. The massive statues at the entrance are among the largest in Egypt and were designed to show the power of the pharaoh. Inside, your guide will explain how the temple was carefully aligned with the sun, allowing sunlight to reach the inner sanctuary on specific days each year.
After completing the visit, return to Abu Simbel Airport for your flight to Cairo.
Upon arrival at Cairo International Airport, proceed directly to the international terminal to board your onward flight home, marking the end of your unforgettable Solar Eclipse journey in Egypt.
